A dimmer changes how a room feels more than the fitting does. The one thing to check is LED compatibility, since an older dimmer paired with LED lamps is the usual cause of flicker and buzzing. Switches and sockets are also worth matching to the fittings in a room, and are easy to overlook until everything else is finished.
